Abby's Film Debut

Jessica, the KELT producer and Abby's former drama teacher, sent out an e-mail requesting responses from 11-12 year old children who were interested in taking part in a film clip for Kazakhstan's ministry of education. Abby was quite enthusiastic and immediately sent in her head shot and resume. She was chosen and asked to meet at AIS this morning for a few hours of shooting.
The whole set-up was quite professional. The film crew was on a five country tour, producing a 45 minute video promoting a Singaporean e-learning system (which Kazakhstan's department of education has recently adopted.) The Kazakhstan section will be 5-10 minutes and will also be used to advertise the new system within the public schools. There were several directors, camera men, key grips, and even a make-up artist. Abby was thrilled to get her own make-over as part of the deal!
What a beautiful girl!
Abby was used in one of the introductory shots. . .
There was a close-up of a girl's hands as she typed on a computer keyboard.
Then this shot moved to a close-up of Abby on the other side of the room.
Then, the filmers used the entire group of kids for segments in the classroom with a teacher. After several hours of work, they let the group go for lunch. Abby was asked to do a few more shots in the afternoon at Sairon Lake. The kids drew in the sand and ran across the beach for the camera. The primary Kazakh girl was then taken on to the central cathedral for an interview while we were dismissed for the day (whew! I was not excited about driving back from 28 Soldier Park at 6 pm on a Friday afternoon!) They did ask Abby to meet them for one more shoot tomorrow morning, however. She was only moderately excited about this request, however, since it will interfere with morning soccer practice. The novelty was starting to wear off. . .
