Ingredients for a Good Guy Party
Food - and lots of it. Pizza is often a good choice.
Brownies are not too bad either.
Good friends. Weaponry. Abandoned territory. Camo gear. War paint. And a script which gives life to the above necessities.
The guys got some additional excitement with today's adventure. They were fully costumed and walking around our abandoned neighborhood, scoping out places for good film sequences. A police car drove past them. Then stopped and backed up. The officers got out of the car. Micah, who had a holstered bb-pistol, was very quick to hold out his weapon and explain that it was a toy. The officers were respectful, but thorough, frisking them down, checking for weapons and drugs. (Instead of drugs, they found an ice cream wrapper in Daniel's pocket. That's my boy!) The boys were respectful and disarming, explaining that they lived nearby and were just having fun, dressing up and filming a war movie. The officers asked if they were scaring people. The guys explained that they were just typical boys who enjoyed scaring and shooting each other with bb's, not any innocent people. The policemen seemed to understand and didn't hassle them anymore, giving them permission to use the territory for their antics. . . Way to go, guys! I was proud of them for respectfully explaining their purposes in Kazakh and Russian so that the officers understood their motivations and intentions. And it is always good to know that the police actually will take the time to investigate people walking around our neighborhood who look like this:

This looks a little more familiar! And now, those boys are upstairs eating pizza and brownies, and sniping each other on the electronic screen as well. . . Ahh, it's a good life.

Thanks, Margo! I hope your pizza is/was delicious!
